Today is a day to Celebrate School in Brazil!

This day provides an opportunity to recognise the fundamental base of information taught to children. Brazil’s education system has had its share of setbacks, but it continues to have a positive perspective as the country grows and develops.

Education across the globe is a human right, as well as a public obligation.

We all recognise that schools are a place where we can learn, grow, discover ourselves, experience life, and interact. These happy memories will remain crucial to preserve and push forward the ambition and enthusiasm that children have to build their lives.

In this Xodó Challenge, we are helping by donating school kits to the Quilombola communities of Maranhão, in Brazil. There, education is different because it must take into account the cultural, social, as well as the economic values of these historical communities as reference points.

School Day must be celebrated because:

  • It is important to bring the family and school closer.
  • The objective is to unite children, parents & teachers.
  • The school must be a space for dialogue between knowledge and local reality, valuing sustainable development, work, culture/values and the struggle for Quilombola rights to land and territory.

We hope that we succeed in helping the children of the Quilombola communities of Maranhão to have the opportunity to learn and develop. We also hope that we can continue to rely on you to bring a smile to their faces and to make a significant impact in their futures.

Please keep on going! Together, we can really make a difference 😊
