Meet AMI, our chosen NGO!

Why Ukraine?

For Challenge Myr, we are running for a special cause: to help children in Ukraine and give them “Myr” means peace in Ukrainian.
We chose to support AMI (Fundação de Assistencia Médica Internacional).

Who is AMI?

AMI is a Portuguese non-governmental organization (NGO) created in 1984, with the mission to intervene in humanitarian crises worldwide.

The AMI Foundation acts in accordance with the 4 Principles of Humanitarian Action:

  • Humanity: Alleviate human suffering by protecting life concerning the health & safety of people.
  • Neutrality: Doesn’t support sides in political, racial, or ideological situations.
  • Impartiality: Acts according to needs: gives priority to the most urgent situations without discrimination of race, sex, religion, beliefs & or social background.
  • Independence: Doesn’t have any other political, economic or military objective in the fields of activity.

Currently, there are many Ukrainian families in a bad economic situation and a state of vulnerability, due to the conflict happening in Ukraine. Over one million kids have fled Ukraine as families urgently seek safety and protection.

For these reasons, Run4aChild will be focusing on Medicine and first aid supplies, Food Baskets, and Hygiene products for women and children to help these communities to get back on their feet.
