Meet Ana Saburano! #runnerspotlight

Meet Ana Saburano, member of the “Run 4 Happy Child” team and an athlete who swapped smoking for marathons.

  1. How many Run4aChild challenges have you participated in?
I am not sure in how many challenges I have already participated in, but I think maybe 4 with this one.
  1. What do you like the most about the challenge?
The part of being able to help is what has made me participate from the beginning. Helping others by running and knowing that my kms are good for something makes really motivated. I always push myself even further, so in a way these challenges have even helped me and my performance.
  1. What is your opinion about these challenges?
I think that this CSR initiative is excellent. You encourage the practice of exercising by doing good to those who participate and doing good to others in need. Other companies should follow this initiative as an example.
  1. Do you identify with the cause for which we run/walk?
I can identify a lot to all causes. Helping these causes by participating in the challenges is a big motivation for me.
  1. Do you think Run4aChild has changed your daily habits and life in general for the better?
It hasn’t changed my lifestyle, but it has definitely optimized it. Like I mentioned, I also push myself further and further because helping the causes are worth it.
  1. What do you think will be your biggest motivation to continue participating and running?
The biggest motivation is to be able to help by doing something so simple and so accessible and in this way change someone’s life.
  1. Is running your favorite form of exercise or do you practice other types of exercise?
I practice other exercises too, I am very active but running will always be my favorite!
  1. Do you have any technique to get less tired and run more kms?
The best technique is this one: complete challenge after challenge, which will lead to more training and every time it will get easier. Put in the work and keep pushing.
  1. Do you usually run in specific areas or do you like to try new ones?
I run in mixed areas, but the mountainous areas are are my favorite place.
  1. How many times on average do you run per week?
Per week, I run every day! Makes my weeks happier 😄.

Ana’s last race happened on the 1st of October, the “GRANDE TRAIL SERRA D\’ARGA”, where Ana classified as 1st in the women’s´ division and 12th in the overall ranking.
