runner spotlight

Meet Paulo Ferreira, one of our newest runners!

In how many Run4aChild editions/challenges did you participate?

This is actually my first edition participating with a team, however, I participated as an individual runner in Challenge# 7 “From Kibera with Love”.

Do you enjoy participating in the Run4aChild initiatives?

Yes ! I absolutely do and I would also like to congratulate you guys from this initiative. I´m truly happy to be a part of this community and family.

Tell us about your personal experience in the Run4aChild challenges.

I think running is amazing, it makes me feel alive and its good for my health. At the same time, to have a noble goal is perfect. This is my first official challenge where I can participate in all of the categories individual and team goals and I am already on fire  :).

How/what did you feel when you completed a challenge?

I felt accomplished and it was such an honor to reach the last kilometre in challenge #7 and I know I will feel the same way this time too.

Do you think Run4aChild had/has a positive impact in your life? How?

Yes! It has the same impact as day-to-day good acts of kindness, like when you help someone in a store, donate money or food to a homeless person, help an elderly person cross the road, etc.. it is the same sensation.

Were there any changes to your lifestyle thanks to your participation?

I have been an active man all my life. I practice a lot of sports and running is one of those that I practice on a daily basis, but now I have another motivation to run even more.

What is your biggest motivation to join this cause?

To help children all over the world that are in need. Life can be so beautiful and so simple if you help everyone.

Do you think the original goals will be met this time?

Yes, no doubt! People like to run and to have an active lifestyle and this is something you can do at the same time. Two objectives in one!

Would you recommend taking part in the initiative to anyone?

Yes! I try to spread the word as much as possible because Run4aChild is amazing. People have told me that this is a brilliant idea to help children while helping people to also stay active.

Do you have any advice for Run4aChild future runners?

Keep going! The path is always ahead. Grab a pair of running shoes, be happy, stay healthy and challenge yourself!

Kanimambo for your testimonial, Paulo!

How about you? What are you waiting for to follow Paulo´s footsteps?
