Kanimambo means `Thank you´ in Tsonga (Changana), a dialect from Mozambique. In this challenge we say Kanimambo for supporting this cause!
This time we will run for a compelling/vital cause: OIKOS. Your runs will be converted in anti-Covid kits as well as food.
Meet the Goals and Donations:
Individual Goal: 80km
If each runner reaches their individual goal, we will provide schools with anti COVID-19 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Kits. Our goal is to help at least 1 school with over 200 children so that these children can continue studying and stay protected against the virus. These kits will be handed out to the children in the schools that Oikos supports and consist of individual masks, gloves, soap and hand sanitizer.
Team Goal: 700km
If each team reaches their team goal, you will be able to help a family have food on the table for a month! The main problem Mozambique faces is hunger and to help face this problem, we will donate food kits consisting of cereal, rice, corn, beans, peanuts, sweet potato, oil, flour, maize flour and canned foods. 1 Food Kit per Team that reaches their goal, so the more teams formed that reach their goal, the more families we can help!
Challenge Goal: 75,000km
If we reach the overall challenge goal, we will be able to help 10 communities to improve their hygiene and basic sanitation conditions. One of the main reasons why people in Mozambique are always sick is because of the poor hygiene conditions in which they live. Our objective as a company in the Kanimambo challenge is to help protect 10 communities by giving them access to clean water with specific buckets with taps, masks and soap kits for the whole community. These deliveries will be managed by the local authorities to make sure everyone in the community will receive their hygiene kit.
Challenge starts May 1st (just around the corner!) and ends 1st August.
