Meet Joana! #runnerspotlight

runner spotlight

Hi Joana! Welcome to Run4aChild..and to WIT! 🙌

In how many Run4aChild editions/challenges did you participate?

I joined the WIT family about 1 year ago, so this is the first Run4aChild I have participated in, but I feel very proud to work for a company that allows us to help others in such a simple and healthy way!

Did you enjoy participating in the Run4aChild initiative?

Of course yes! Being a mother of a baby has taken effort and determination to find some time for me, but whenever I get Run4aChild it’s part of that agenda… when I can’t my baby also participates, of course we contribute less together because we go at baby steps , but what counts is participating for the cause, doing the kms that each one can do.

Tell us about your personal experience in the Run4aChild challenge.

Super simple! And it’s also good for those who are new to the company – it’s a playful activity that allows us to share experiences, tastes and another purpose we have in common. And isn’t that what life is made of – sharing, experiences and purposes?

Do you think Run4aChild had/has a positive impact in your life?

Run4aChild has a positive impact on the lives of many children with basic needs and, as a member of the WIT community, being able to help in this cause, in such a simple way, is a very gratifying feeling! This is the biggest positive impact – having the opportunity to help those in need!

Were there any changes in your lifestyle thanks to your participation?

Working at WIT and being a mother are my 2 full-time professions, so having “free” time for other activities takes effort and discipline. Run4aChild has helped me to be more disciplined with my schedule and take some time to walk or run!

What tips can you share to people that are about to start running?

Mark your calendar today, it doesn’t matter if you manage half an hour a day or an hour a week or if you’re going to walk or run or if you’re going to do 3 km or 30 km – the most important thing is to participate!

What type of places do you prefere to run/walk?

I like the contact with nature and since we are telecommuting I have valued these moments even more, so one of my favorite places to walk/run has been by the river!

📍 Mondego River – Coimbra, Portugal

Will you join us in the future challenge?

Of course I do, I hope to be able to contribute more kms!

Thank your for your testimonial Joana! Indeed, every kilometre count!
