{"id":933,"date":"2022-05-26T10:43:32","date_gmt":"2022-05-26T10:43:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.run4achild.com\/blog\/?p=933"},"modified":"2025-08-18T08:49:01","modified_gmt":"2025-08-18T08:49:01","slug":"meet-ami-our-chosen-ngo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.run4achild.com\/blog\/index.php\/2022\/05\/26\/meet-ami-our-chosen-ngo\/","title":{"rendered":"Meet AMI, our chosen NGO!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1584\" height=\"396\" src=\"https:\/\/www.run4achild.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/you-did-it.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-934\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Why Ukraine?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Challenge Myr, we are running for a special cause: to help children in Ukraine and give them &#8220;Myr&#8221; means peace in Ukrainian.<br>We chose to support <strong>AMI <\/strong>(Funda\u00e7\u00e3o de Assistencia M\u00e9dica Internacional).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Who is AMI?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>AMI <\/strong>is a <strong>Portuguese<\/strong> non-governmental organization (NGO) created in <strong>1984<\/strong>, with the mission to intervene in <strong>humanitarian crises worldwide<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The AMI Foundation acts in accordance with the 4 Principles of Humanitarian Action:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Humanity:&nbsp;<\/strong>Alleviate human suffering by protecting life concerning the health &amp; safety of people.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Neutrality:&nbsp;<\/strong>Doesn&#8217;t support sides in political, racial, or ideological situations.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Impartiality:&nbsp;<\/strong>Acts according to needs: gives priority to the most urgent situations without discrimination of race, sex, religion, beliefs &amp; or social background.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Independence:&nbsp;<\/strong>Doesn&#8217;t have any other political, economic or military objective in the fields of activity.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently, there are many Ukrainian families in a <strong>bad economic situation and a state of vulnerability,<\/strong> due to the conflict happening in Ukraine.
