Her team has already ran 5.538 km and so far, they have accomplished 700% of their team goal!

In how many Run4aChild editions/challenges did you participate in?

This is my first time participating in a Run4aChild challenge.

Did you enjoy participating in the Run4aChild initiative?

Yes, definitely! I loved the cause, the donations and participating in this initiative has only brought benefits to my life.

Tell us about your personal experience in the Run4aChild challenge.

I’ve always loved sports, but I admit that since the pandemic started, my motivation to exercise had decreased. Participating in this Run4aChild challenge has increased my motivation to have a more active life again. In addition, I was able to form a team that identified with the cause. This cause will help a lot of people and this makes me very happy!

How did you came up with your team name? How did you set up your team?

The name of my team, which was initially supposed to be temporary, came from a pun in Portuguese of “solas + solidários” which means the soles of shoes + solidarity. Initially, the team was made up of just my brother and I, who besides being an active athlete, also identified with the initiative! In just a couple of days, we were able to gather more friends that also like to run. The engagement was so overwhelming that we decided to split the team into 2 (SolaDarios 1.0 + SolaDarios 1.1) with the support of João F. Alves (also from WIT), in order to be able to help not just one, but two families! ❤

You’re in first place in the team ranking! How do you push your runners so far?

First, I’m lucky to have a brother who loves running and who also motivates me a lot to have a more active and healthier lifestyle. With him, we made a team filled with friends who also love running. The cause motivates them enough, I did not really even need to push them. Thanks team ❤

Do you think Run4aChild has a positive impact in your life?

Absolutely! Besides making me feel great for being able to help other people who are in need, it has motivated me to have a healthier routine again.

Were there any changes in your lifestyle thanks to your participation?

Yes, huge changes! As I mentioned, by participating in this challenge, I was able to recover the motivation to have a more active and sporty life! I’m so grateful to Run4aChild for that.

What is your biggest motivation to run/walk?

I’m not a runner yet, but I love walking! One of the things that I like to do the most is to be in contact with nature and to be able to enjoy it for my physical and mental well-being. I’m a big hiking fan. However, the Run4aChild cause motivated me to take walks more regularly and also nearby my house, which allowed me to get to know amazing places here that are so close to me!

What tips can you share to people that are about to start running?

Just move! The best we can do for ourselves is to take care of our health. I think it’s so important that we have a healthy routine in our lives. Running or walking is not only good for our physical well-being, but also for our psychological health! To me, it helps to have some emotional balance. Besides, there are so many people who will receive help with the kms that we achieve through this initiative!!! It doesn’t need to be every day nor many hours. Just start slowly and spend as much time as you think is necessary to make you feel good! And never give up!

Can you share your run/walking routines? For example, what hours do you prefere to run/walk?

I don’t really have a running/walking routine, I’m trying to get back to my old routine of exercising 2/3 times a week, by walking or doing any other sport. But I’ve been trying to do at least one nature walk per week. I also prefer to exercise in the morning, but I can’t always get around to it.

What type of places do you prefere to run/walk?

Nature, nature, and nature! I love exploring mountains but I also love walking near the water. If I’m discovering a new trail, even better.

Have you already achieved your Kanimambo individual Goal? If yes, was it hard?

Yes, I have. When the challenge began, I started walking every day, which was a bad decision since I had been inactive for so many months. So, I hurt my foot on one of my first walks, which forced me to stop for 2 weeks! However, when I started again, I was careful not to push myself too hard so that I could achieve the 80km. It was a great feeling when I reached my goal!

How did you feel when completing a challenge/goal?

I felt great and I also very motivated for the next Run4aChild challenges! I love these causes and after all, it didn’t feel so hard, because I just helped by doing something that makes me feel good.

Will you join us in the future challenge? What would you like to see in the next challenge?

Of course, I will! This initiative is fantastic! Besides helping many people, it also motivates others to have healthier routines! I hope the next challenge will continue to bring even more people who identify themselves with the future causes and want to be on the move. Thanks Run4aChild 🤗

May this testimonial be an inspiration for these last steps of the Kanimambo challenge.
